What do I need?
A photo and a video. The photo is the still you normally see; the video plays when you long-press it. This tool only packages them and doesn't generate any motion, so it can't animate a single photo on its own.
How do I use it on an iPhone?
An Apple Live Photo is a JPG plus a MOV, and the two only pair up when imported together in one go, for example by selecting both in the Photos app on a Mac and letting iCloud sync them to your iPhone. Saving the two files separately on an iPhone won't pair them. Generated Live Photos can't be used as live wallpapers; that's a system limit.
How do I use it on Android?
An Android motion photo is a single JPG. Galleries that support the standard, such as on Pixel, Xiaomi and Samsung phones, play it when you long-press; a few phones may show only the still. The iPhone Photos app doesn't recognize Android motion photos and shows them as regular photos.
What if the photo and video have different shapes?
The photo is center-cropped to the video's aspect ratio, so match them to keep your framing. H.264 and HEVC videos aren't re-encoded; other codecs are converted to H.264 first. Around 3 seconds of video works best; long videos may load slowly or show only the still in some galleries.
Does it cost credits?
