FAQ
What counts as silence?
The volume is first raised to full scale, then anything more than 50 dB below the loudest point counts as silence. Recordings with loud background noise may have no detectable pauses; run Audio Noise Remover first.
Are pauses removed completely?
No, they're shortened to the length you choose. 0.1s is kept on each side of a cut, so pauses end up about 0.2s longer than the setting and don't sound abrupt.
What else changes in the output?
It's an MP3 (320k), and the overall volume is raised close to full scale.
Can it handle videos?
You can pick a video; your browser takes out the audio first and uploads only that. The result is the trimmed audio without the picture.
Does it cost credits?
Your first 200 runs are free. After that it's billed by the original length at 1 credit per minute, with partial minutes rounded up; see Pricing on this page. You need to sign in; runs that fail, for example because the whole file is silent, are refunded.
